On my website I recently had an SEO specialist look at it and he told me that the 'Cufon replacement' I had activated on there was bad my SEO because it replaced the headings with pictures and wasn't picked up by search engines as well as it should of been.
Does anyone know if this is true? I'm not sure whether he was telling the truth or just trying to make a sale.

I don't know much about 'Cufon replacement'. But if it still uses an image to make text (so you have a picture not real text), of course he is right.

I had a site that i had to do that to. My site wasnt working in IE9. I just followed the direction on a online tutorial, I had no idea what exactly it was doing but it fixed the problem. It didn't affect my SEO that i could tell. This is actually the first time i have heard it mentioned regarding SEO.

From what I've heard and read Cufon fonts do NOT effect SEO. I can't find the old link to it now but Matt Cutts has said that it does not. Google also has its own Cufon fonts called, none other than, Google Web Fonts. There are hundreds of them available. If you feel unsure about it I would go with the Google Web Fonts. They really do add some nice visual appeal to a website.

Yeah.. if in doubts.. simply use Google Web Fonts.. Why insist on something if it creates doubts on your part. Anyway, Google Web Fonts are cool!
