    Question for Moe

    Hey Moe,

I recently visited your blog and was reading your post 2012 New Blog Success Plan. I see that your focus is on adding a ton of new content. However, I also see that you have a short term goal of getting atleast 100 visitors per day within 3 months.

So, my question is how do you plan to get those visitors? What are some of your strategies for generating traffic? Are you working on SEO or just adding quality content to drive people to your site?

I am very interested to know because I have been struggling with what I need to be focusing on for my blog. I have been trying to focus my efforts on SEO as of late but I feel like I'm running circles and not ever getting anywhere when I have the time to work on my blog. My time to spend on my blog each day is limited so I want to make the most of it and here lately I really feel like I have been wasting time rather than being productive, which is no good.

So, Just wondering what some of your strategies are so maybe I can use those for myself as kind of a plan of my own.

    Re: Question for Moe

Hey Khooten, Thanks for checking out my website. Yes, when i wrote that 2012 game plan things were a little different. I will need to update that because obviously i have not stuck to it. One of the main factors is the fact that i am taking over ZZZProfits.com . I still plan on growing it, but not quite as ambitiously.

I have to be honest i am more excited about what can be done with zzzproftis.com at the moment, so a lot of my time that would have gone into Moeswebtips will now go here. Actually ZZZProfits may end up being the main source of traffic for Moeswebtips, it sent you, lol.

To answer your question. My main strategies were going to be:

    1. Writing content based on titles that are key word researched using Google keyword tool. The title is the most important part and Content still is king. Here is an interesting story " I have a fitness related niche site that i created a while ago. I created content for about 3-4 months without much progress in traffic. Then one day i created a random article and bam i started getting about 100-150 visitors a day to that one article. It wasn't anything special but for some reason Google liked it. Then from that point the traffic just started slowly increasing to the entire site every month. In a sense i hit article gold. The more unique content you create the more chances you have of hitting gold, silver or even bronze and maybe even platinum. As you start grabbing traffic, pay close attention to your analytics, because it will give you signs on where to focus.

    2. Creating tutorial or helpful Youtube videos that would be imbedded into blog posts. The truth is you can rank for key words a lot easy on Youtube then you can in Google. If you start a personalized youtube channel and imbed them on your blog, you just gave yourself an edge on the competition. My favorite online business youtube blog is Lisa Irby's http://www.youtube.com/user/lisa3876 She just says it like it is.

    3. Integrating the blog with facebook and twitter. Anytime you can automate do it. when i post a blog it cross posts to Facebook and tweets it. takes a little bit of setup but saves me tons of time. the free plugin i use to cross post to Facebook fanpage is Wordbooker then i just connect twitter to facebook fanpage within twitter settings. There are many other ways to automate many other things but its good to just keep it simple with the big 3 at first.

    4. Actively grow my fanpage & twitter account. I believe the best way to rank on Google is by not needing to rank on Google. If you create a website that people value as a resource or point of interest they will come back and recommend it. Google will follow the people trail regardless of SEO

    5. Following the 90/10 rule. Spend 90% of my time doing something actively for my websites and only 10% on learning. I still need to work on this. Like many, I suffer from shiny object syndrome.

My plan at the beginning was to not do much SEO. I wanted to try and gain traffic completely organically, then when it start to get momentum maybe hit it with some outsourced SEO.

    Re: Question for Moe

Thanks for the reply Moe, and thanks for the tips. I will definitely use some of that information.

I have actually just started creating videos on youtube, and have gotten a few visitors to my site from that video. Nothing amazing just like 5-10 visitors. But, that showed me that creating youtube videos is totally worth it and could be huge for traffic in the long run.

I haven't created a facebook fan page yet. I know that's something I should definitely do in the near future. I do however have a Twitter account for RealBizTips but I only have about 30 followers so far. I'm trying to grow that as well.

My problem right now is that I really have no clue what my next step should be. So, when I have time to sit down and work on my site I kind of just wonder around the interent aimlessly trying to figure out the best path to take. After reading reply I think I should probably focus most of my efforts on creating new content for my site rather than worrying with SEO right now.
